Law Enforcement Operations

The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office is responsible for providing law enforcement services throughout unincorporated areas of the county, as well as contracted law enforcement services to the Towns of Lyons, Superior, and Nederland. Our operations include patrol, traffic enforcement, criminal investigations, animal protection, evidence management, deputy training, crime prevention, civil section, search and rescue, wildland fire management and response, and safety-related education.

We are committed to delivering professional, responsive, and community-focused public safety services. By ensuring proper staffing, ongoing training, and strategic personnel assignments, we strive to meet the needs of Boulder County residents with integrity and accountability.

Our approach is rooted in proactive policing, with a strong emphasis on crime prevention and problem-solving. Through the use of our district-based patrol plan and a community policing philosophy, we work closely with residents and local leaders to address concerns and improve public safety. We value innovation, community engagement, and continuous improvement, and we regularly assess and adapt our efforts to provide the highest level of service.
